Federal Officials

These offices are part of the United States Congress, the legislative branch of our Federal Government.

The officers here can affect Federal issues, such as international supplies, environmental protection, and national funding. Gold Coast Builders Association has 4 locally elected members of the House of Representatives.

State Officials

Florida Executive Branch

Florida’s executive Branch includes the Governor, Lt Governor, Chief Financial Officer, Attorney General, Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. The Governor is the highest office in the State of Florida, and has the ability to veto bill passed by the Florida legislature. Other issues handled by the Executive Branch include insurance, state budget, and law enforcement.

Florida State Representatives and Senators

Members of the Florida House of Representatives and Florida Senate, these elected officers are all locally elected.

Every year the Florida Legislature meets for 90 days to address issues and pass the budget for the State of Florida. These individuals have a large impact on the construction industry. Issues brought before the legislature include; growth management, workers compensation, and funding for affordable housing.

Local Officials

Palm Beach County and Northern Broward County are each made up a Board of County Commissioners; Palm Beach County’s Board is made up of 7 single member district commissioners; Broward’s Board is made up of 9 single member districts.
